You might also have stunted growth and a waterlogged, grayish-brown discoloration of the rhizomes and stems. Early shoots may become soft and rotted, breaking off from the rhizome. As the disease progresses, the leaves begin to turn yellow then brown within three to four days. This condition causes infected ginger leaves to curl and roll, starting with the lower leaves first. If you are experiencing green ginger leaves that are curling under, you’re most likely dealing with bacterial wilt, also known as green wilt.
